The YBF management initiative is a University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service program designed to help beef producers understand the importance and management complexities of the young beef females in their herds. The health of the young beef female has important ramifications for the future of the herd unit, from both biologic and economic view points. Proper management of the young beef female can increase reproductive rates, decrease veterinary costs and lead to stronger, heavier calves.
