The Department of Renewable Resources in the College of Agriculture provides analytical services (chemical and physical) to three different constituencies: Wyoming farmers, ranchers and homeowners; University of Wyoming researchers; and state and federal government agencies.
The Soil Testing Laboratory makes fertility recommendations for agricultural producers and homeowners based on analytical data produced in the laboratory. A fee, approved by the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is charged for these services. The standard fertility test includes pH, organic matter, available phosphate, available nitrate, electrical conductivity (an estimate of salt content), texture and a qualitative lime estimate. For more information contact your local University of Wyoming Extension office.
