Crop
systems extension educator joins Park County office
Sandy Frost will join the Park County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) office in Powell Dec. 11 as the Big Horn Basin Area crop systems educator.
This position will cover Park, Big Horn, Washakie and Hot Springs counties, said Susan James, UW CES federal relations and staff development coordinator.
Frost has a bachelor’s degree in agroecology (1999) and a master’s degree in agronomy (2001) from UW. She also received a bachelor’s degree in English (1968) from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va. She has worked the past four years as a faculty research assistant with the Oregon State University Columbia Basin Agricultural Research Center near Pendleton, Oregon.
According to James, this position will provide educational resources to agriculture producers in the Big Horn Basin in addition to working closely on applied research with the Powell Research and Extension Center.
“Sandy’s education and recent experience with the experiment station in Oregon will be an asset to the area team,” said James.
