UW CES educator will serve Sweetwater, Uinta counties

A University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) rangeland resources educator will begin serving Uinta and Sweetwater counties April 2.

Cade Davis will be based in the Sweetwater County UW CES office in Rock Springs, said Susan James, federal relations and staff development coordinator for the CES.

Davis just completed his master’s degree in range management at Utah State University. He graduated from the university magna cum laude in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He also attended the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Davis was raised in rural Idaho, where he had the opportunity to work on farms in the area. He also brings experience working on ranches in Idaho, Nevada and Utah, which provided him the opportunity to see a variety of different production practices as well as managerial styles of goal setting and problem solving, said James.

“Cade brings not only an excellent educational background, but experience managing a summer grazing program of a 500-head cow/calf operation in Ririe, Idaho,” noted James. “That opportunity enhances his experience in both range and livestock management. This experience will be invaluable when working with livestock producers in Sweetwater and Uinta counties.”
