UW extension service offers family day program at Natrona County office
Subjects of sessions at the Family Day program in Casper by University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) educators are those identified as needs by their customers in Converse, Natrona and Niobrara counties, said an office representative.
Family Day sessions are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, and include ten 40-minute programs in sustainable resource management, profitable agriculture, 4-H/youth development, nutrition, financial management and rural enterprise development.
“The cooperative extension service has always been about families and teaching families skills, and what we tried to do with this is offer program interests that will include the entire family,” said Milt Green, a UW CES educator serving the three counties.
“The topics we have selected are general in nature but are topics of interest to families. A good example is the session I’m doing on estate planning. We’re just trying to get that conversation started with the idea that families can talk about it now, or it can be done later with the court.”
The event is at the Agricultural Resource and Learning Center, 2011 Fairgrounds Road, in Casper. Cost is $5 per person and includes lunch. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 21 by calling (307) 235-9400, ext. 12. People can also sign-in and pay at the door beginning at 9:30 a.m. the day of the event.
Offerings include:
