4-H educator joins Albany County Cooperative Extension Service office

Molly Keil will join the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service in Albany County as 4-H youth extension educator.

Keil begins Feb. 21, said Susan James, federal relations and staff development coordinator with the UW Cooperative Extension Service (CES). 4-H is the youth arm of the UW CES, and its state offices are in the College of Agriculture.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work as a 4-H/youth development extension educator, particularly in Albany County because of the university and all of the resources it offers,” said Keil. “I look forward to meeting and working with lots of new people.”

Keil graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s of science degree in agricultural extension education. She was raised on a farm in northern Colorado and was actively involved in 4-H programs raising livestock.

“In addition to her strong 4-H background, she brings leadership and teaching skills to the position,” said James.

She completed a summer 4-H internship in Platte County in 2003. Following her graduation from CSU, she has been working in the UW Department of Animal Science where she provided support for the state beef and meat extension specialists.

Keil had participated in the CSU Meats Judging Team and the College of Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Ambassadors.
