4-H educator joins Crook County extension office

Janet Lake joined the Crook County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) staff Oct.16 as a part-time 4-H youth educator.

“This is a new, half-time position devoted to 4-H youths, which we hope will strengthen the 4-H program in Crook County,” said Susan James, UW CES federal relations and staff development coordinator.

Lake will work with full-time 4-H youth educator Peggy Symonds and Gene Gade, CES educator for Campbell, Crook and Weston counties, in implementing programs for youths.

“One of my long-standing goals is to make a difference in the lives of young people,” said Lake, “and 4-H is a great vehicle for doing that.  I am excited to be able to invest my energies for the benefit of the youths of Crook County.  I'm very eager to start my new job”

Lake is a 1996 graduate of Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D., with a bachelor’s degree in education. James said Lake brings classroom teaching experience and involvement with on-the-job training programs, organizing and facilitating events and presentations for the Wyoming Job Network.
