4-H youth educator joins Campbell County Cooperative Extension Service office

Jessica Gladson has joined the Campbell County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) office as a part-time 4-H youth educator.

            Gladson started Oct. 2.

“The focus of this position will be working with family and consumer science project areas such as foods, clothing and textiles, interior design, cake decorating and child development,” said Susan James, UW CES federal relations and staff development coordinator.

Gladson said she is looking forward to meeting and working with 4-Hers, leaders and fair superintendents. “We will be setting timelines and goals for each family and consumer science project area,” said Gladson.

Gladson received a bachelor’s degree in social sciences in 2001 from the University of Wyoming. Originally from Turtle Lake, N.D., she brings 11 years of experience as a 4-H member and extensive volunteer experience as a parent of elementary age children to the position, said James.

She has substitute taught and worked as a volunteer for the Rozet Elementary School and the 4-H program in Campbell County. She was named Rozet School Volunteer of the Year in 2005-2006.

“Campbell County has an extremely strong 4-H/youth program under the leadership of Rindy West, 4-H educator and county coordinator,” said James. “The addition of this half-time position will strengthen the total county program.”
