Cooperative Extension Service welcomes Cade Davis

Cade Davis, rangeland resources educator, began serving Uinta and Sweetwater counties April 2. Cade is based in the Sweetwater County CES office in Rock Springs.

Cade just completed his master’s degree in range management at Utah State University. He graduated from the university magna cum laude in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He also attended the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Cade was raised in rural Idaho, where he had the opportunity to work on farms in the area. He also brings experience working on ranches in Idaho, Nevada and Utah, which provided him the opportunity to see a variety of different production practices as well as managerial styles of goal setting and problem solving, said James.

“Cade brings not only an excellent educational background, but experience managing a summer grazing program of a 500-head cow/calf operation in Ririe, Idaho,” notes Susan James, federal relations and staff development coordinator. “That opportunity enhances his experience in both range and livestock management. This experience will be invaluable when working with livestock producers in Sweetwater and Uinta counties.”
