Educator
joins Albany and Carbon County Cooperative Extension Service offices
An animal and veterinary sciences graduate from the University of Wyoming has joined the Albany County University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) office as an educator serving Albany and Carbon counties.
Kellie Chichester started in September.
She received a master’s degree in animal science and veterinary sciences from UW in August and a bachelor’s degree in animal science in 2003 from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla.
“We were specifically looking for a candidate with a strong background in animal systems to assist agriculture producers in this two-county area,” said Susan James, federal relations and staff development coordinator for the UW CES. “Kellie’s education and experience will be a great addition to the area team.”
Chichester grew up on a ranch in northern California that raised and managed a commercial herd of Angus-cross cattle and a small flock of Suffolk sheep.
She has worked the past three years for Steve Paisley, extension beef specialist and assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science in the College of Agriculture. James said Chichester also completed an internship focusing on 4-H and youth in the Albany County CES office in 2004.
