Archers from five counties compete in state 4-H contest

            Park County archers dominated the top places in the 2006 4-H Postal Archery Shoot competition.

            More than 236 4-Hers from Albany, Laramie, Natrona, Park and Washakie counties competed at local ranges from April 16 to May 26. More than half the top three scores in each class were turned in by Park County archers. 

            4-Hers mailed (hence the name Postal) results into the state 4-H office, and the top 10 winners in each class will receive pins, said Warren Crawford, state 4-H youth development specialist.

            The archers are divided into different classes depending upon the type of equipment used. Class A competitors use a traditional recurve or long bow. Class B archers use a compound bow but without any sights or aids. 4-Hers in Class C shoot with a compound bow with sights.  Class D is unlimited.

            A perfect score for the rounds of competition is 450 points. The top three places, county, and their scores are:
