Long Term Monitoring
Detecting a change in trend requires, by definition,
would require carefully documenting the property you are observing at two
points in time. The methodology chosen to document the property you have
chosen as an indicator of change may range from very detailed, labor and
expertise intensive sampling to something much simpler. Since the purpose
of this program was to avoid the necessity of training or maintaining a
high level of expertise in vegetative sampling or plant identification,
photographs and lifeform frequency were suggested as being applicable to
the purposes of permittee initiated monitoring.
